Provide Comfort to the Elderly
The Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate have made a valuable contribution in the field of health care. Ever since their arrival in Canada in 1902, they have ministered to the needs of the sick, the elderly, and infirm. In the early days, they worked as best as they could with less than adequate resources, but not without aspirations.  Today they continue to provide comfort to the elderly through their ministry at Holy Family Home.
Currently there are 276 residents who live at Holy Family Home located on Main Street and Aberdeen Avenue in Winnipeg.  Although the care that is provided is outstanding, the most loving care can still fall short when the facilities don't meet the needs.  Changes in physical standards, programming and care requirements mean the current buildings are no longer adequate to give residents the highest quality of service.  Residents are arriving with more complex clinical needs requiring more support and supervision.
In 2011, the Premier of Manitoba announced an expansion project for Holy Family Home as part of the government’s investment in increasing the number of personal care home beds in the province.  At that time, the Home received approval in principle to proceed with a major revitalization, including a new 157-bed building.  As a result of this announcement the Home has embarked on a campaign.
Life Love Legacy, a campaign to expand and revitalize Holy Family Home, has set a goal of $10 million in support of the capital project.  Working with a strong, committed team of volunteers we are hopeful that the community will respond to ensuring our goal is met and in turn helping provide an even better place for our residents today and tomorrow.   To learn more about the campaign click the image below.
Lubov SSMI Foundation helps provide the necessary financial support to ensure that the elderly are comfortable and surrounded by the necessary extras so they can receive the compassionate and loving care that they deserve.
